What is Info-Activism?

Info-Activism is an approach which helps rights advocates tactically utilise information, communications and digital technologies to enhance advocacy work. Tactical Tech believes that new technologies have significant potential to enhance the work of campaigners and advocates, giving them the tools to gather and analyse information and the means to turn that information into action. In this website, we would like to introduce you to our new initiative - The Info-Activism Camp which will be held in Bangalore, India between the 19th and 25th of February 2009. More about our approach to Info-Activism can be found here.

The Info-Activism Camp - February 19th - 25th 2009, India

APPLICATIONS ARE NOW CLOSED. IN CASE YOU HAVE A QUERY, PLEASE WRITE TO infoactivism@tacticaltech.org

This seven-day camp is organised by Tactical Technology Collective in collaboration with Aspiration, our long term partner, who are co-developing the curricula and leading the facilitation at the camp.

This first-ever international camp on Info-Activism will feature 120 participants, picked through a competitive selection process, who will not only learn but also share skills and techniques to aid in the process of advocacy. Workshops, group discussions, interactive sessions and live demos, which to a large extent will evolve from participants' proposals, are all part of the one-week programme.

Thanks to Oak Foundation, Sigrid Rausing Trust, Open Society Institute and Hivos for making this camp possible.
